About Dr. Mariani
Dr. Chiara Mariani, MD, FAAPMR, is a double trained Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist with Premier Orthopaedic Associates.
Dr. Mariani is a member of American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, North American Spine Society and is also certified in Medical Acupuncture.
Dr. Mariani attained her medical degree in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at University of Milan, Italy. She was an attending at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Villa Beretta, Costa Masnaga where she worked with post-stroke patients, traumatic brain injury patients and performed Botox injections for spasticity management. She then attended University of Pennsylvania for her Internship and Residency training in PM&R. Next she doubled-trained in Medical Acupuncture obtaining her certification at the Superior Institute of Acupuncture in Milan, Italy and the Helms Medical Institute.
Dr. Mariani specializes in conservative and interventional management of pain. She provides individualized, comprehensive musculoskeletal care focusing on the diagnosis and non-operative treatment of back and neck pain, muscle and nerve injuries through the use of injections, medical medication management, and an appropriate physical therapy program.
Dr. Mariani performs Electrodiagnostic testing to diagnose radiculopathies (pinched nerves in the back and neck), compression neuropathies, and peripheral neuropathies.
Dr. Mariani believes in a holistic approach and her individualized treatments are focused on decreasing pain, restoring function and improving the quality of her patient's lives. Her Acupuncture skills allow her to help patients with symptoms related to acute and chronic pain such as anxiety, difficulty sleeping and decreased energy levels.
