Experience

Dr. Monaghan is an orthopedic hand and upper extremity specialist who provides both surgical and non-surgical treatment for conditions and injuries of the hand, wrist, elbow, and arm. He holds a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Surgery of the Hand, recognizing advanced expertise in hand and upper extremity surgery.

He serves as Chief of section of Orthopedic Surgery and past Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Inspira Health in Mullica Hill, New Jersey. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Orthopaedic Association, one of six regional orthopedic associations in the United States.

Dr. Monaghan has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and contributed textbook chapters on orthopedic surgical techniques and hand surgery procedures. He is an active member of the American Association for Hand Surgery and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), where he previously served on the Government Affairs Committee.

Dr. Monaghan formerly served as Vice President of the South Jersey Surgical Center in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. He is the current chairman of the board of Gloucester County Surgical Center in Mullica Hill, New Jersey, a joint venture between physicians and Inspira Health.

Dr. Monaghan is on the Board of Trustees of the Medical Society of New Jersey and is the former President of the Gloucester County Medical Society as well as the Philadelphia Hand Society. He is also President Elect for the New Jersey Orthopaedic Society.
