Dr. Zucconi, a fellowship trained sports medicine specialist. His experience is in working with wide range of athletes from youth to though High School, during active adulthood and into active retired years. Sr. Zucconi provides his patients with individualized exceptional care, treating all like family.
Dr. Zucconi obtained his medical degree from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisbury, West Virginia. He went on to complete his residency and fellowship training at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Zucconi first performed his Residency in Primary Care at South Jersey Healthcare followed by a Fellowship in Sports Medicine at Inspira Health Network.
Dr. Zucconi's practice covers sports related injuries from the student athlete to the weekend warrior and beyond. He specializes in the complete continuum of care from wellness though urgent care, to orthopedic injury and back to health. Dr. Zucconi, specializes in Sports Medicine care. You will find him on the sideline of the athletic competitions treating urgent sports injuries, in the primary care office setting treating patients and in one of our Tri-County offices treating non-surgical patients with the latest best practice in sports medicine.
Dr. Zucconi’s practice focuses on a non surgical approach to musculoskeletal injuries in both the pediatric and adult population. Some of the techniques he utilizes to help with acute and chronic injuries is ultrasound guided platelet rich plasma therapy as well as high and low energy shock wave therapy. When tendon and muscle injuries linger for more than 6 months the structure of the tendons change and healing becomes much more difficult. These two modalities can help achieve healing at a cellular level by recruiting your bodies natural healing factors to promote tendon revascularization and regeneration.
In addition to managing acute and chronic injuries Dr. Zucconi takes a special interest in treating medical musculoskelatal ailments including osteoperosis, gout,exercise induced asthma, and female athlete triad. As a former division 1 athlete Dr. Zucconi understands the importance of sports, training and exercise in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. His undergraduate degree in nutrition and dietetics has helped shape his views that exercise and proper nutrition is medicine, and is the cornerstone of a healthy lifestyle.
